2025 Design Trends
The Forecast
It’s that time of year to dive into the trends we are seeing in the forecast for 2025.
It’s worth noting that following trends aren’t mandatory; you should feel free to express your unique style, regardless of what’s popular. That said, we’re excited to highlight a few key trends that we and various sources believe will stand out in the months ahead.
Stay tuned as we break down these anticipated trends and how they can be interpreted to suit your personal flair!
1. More is More with Maximalism
While minimalism has dominated interior design for years, a shift is on the horizon for 2025! Designers are moving towards a fresh trend: maximalism. We’re saying goodbye to the less-is-more mindset and welcoming a vibrant, eclectic approach to our living spaces.
Though maximalism isn’t entirely new, it has made a spirited comeback with a modern twist! Today’s version invites individuals to create spaces that reflect their unique personalities and facilitate self-discovery.
This trend is all about boldness and making a statement. Imagine a mix of diverse patterns, lively colours, and pure joy.
It encourages you to uncover your authentic self and transform your surroundings into a reflection of who you truly are. The emphasis is on curating pieces that tell a story, prioritizing quality over quantity, and genuinely expressing individuality.
2. The Comfort of Colour
Embrace Earthy Tones
Ditch the cooler tones and welcome warm, inviting hues instead. Earthy shades like terracotta and olive will forge a strong connection to nature.
Pairing these colours with organic textures such as linens, ceramics, and plasters can create a cozy and welcoming vibe. Pantone has announced the colour of the year as Mocha Mousse, which closely resembles one of our concrete shades, Earth.
Delight in Dark Colours
While earthy tones take the spotlight, another bold colour trend is emerging: rich, saturated hues. Perhaps look at using forest greens, deep reds, plum purples, and navy blues.
These colours can capture a dramatic and moody atmosphere filled with depth and warmth.
Combining these vibrant shades with neutral tones can achieve a beautifully balanced look.
3. Drenched in Colour
Colour drenching is a design technique where an entire room is painted in a single hue, creating a seamless and immersive atmosphere. This approach can give the illusion of a larger space and eliminate visual interruptions, guiding the eye gracefully around the room.
Taking it further, double drenching includes a second complementary colour. This technique adds visual interest and allows for a more expressive reflection of your personal style. Double drenching enhances architectural features and establishes a bold focal point by pairing a soft neutral with a vibrant accent.
Consider incorporating texture and depth with materials like lime wash or plaster to elevate this effect. Adding various wall treatments, such as shiplap, fluting, or wainscoting, enriches the visual experience and creates an engaging environment showcasing both colours in harmony.
Colour drenching can be a fantastic way to make a bold statement and bring unity to your space!

4. Mix & Match
Transform your environment by blending an eclectic mix of materials—think metals, woods, and stone—to enhance the depth and character of any room.
Bring variety with different metals—such as brass, copper, or stainless steel—through your choice of lighting fixtures and hardware.
Small details can elevate the overall appearance of your space.
Explore the idea of repurposing furniture to give it a fresh look. The key is to blend natural elements with man-made materials, creating layers of texture and design that truly bring your vision to life.
5. Textures & Walls
Incorporating texture into your space is a fantastic way to introduce new patterns and visual intrigue without overwhelming the senses. Textures can completely transform a room’s atmosphere, making it feel dynamic and inviting.
Creating a tactile experience is crucial to enhancing a room’s ambiance. Consider options like textured wallpaper; think grass cloth, or 3D wall panels that add depth while acting as subtle focal points. Other exciting choices include plaster, Roman clay, stucco, and concrete panels!
Concrete panels stand out as an excellent way to enrich your home with texture. They bring character and can easily be tailored to fit your personal taste and style.
The idea for 2025 is to create a visual experience in a space and a tactile one, encouraging that interactive element to the design.

-
The Trend Takeaway
In 2025, design trends are all about self-expression and individuality. Maximalism, paired with warm earthy tones and vibrant colour drenching, invites us to create spaces that truly reflect our personal identities. By mixing materials and incorporating textured walls, we can bring dynamism and warmth into our surroundings.
Whether you fully embrace these trends or carefully select elements that resonate with you, the goal remains the same: to cultivate a space that feels authentically yours. Get inspired and turn your home into a true reflection of who you are. Make 2025 your year of transformative design!

The Holidays Have Arrived
2024 Edition
The holidays are officially here and so is our obsession over this space.
From the symmetrical picturesque windows capturing the fields, to the warmth of the cozy fireplace, this space just calls for a cup of hot coco and family near.
We are simply needing a living room to style like this for the holidays. Grab your garland, xmas tree, and of course a concrete fireplace to create the perfect space each December!
No matter the space in which you celebrate, our team at Anthony Concrete Design wishes you all happy holidays, and cheers to the new year!
The Blending of Materials
Combining concrete with other materials to elevate design
Not all designs need to be fully clad in concrete to make a statement.
In fact, blending materials can often lead to more dynamic, visually interesting, and harmonious spaces. The combination of concrete with other materials, such as porcelain tiles and wood cabinetry, can elevate a design from ordinary to extraordinary.
The beauty of using concrete in design is its versatility and the way it complements a wide range of materials. Its neutral palette can be the perfect backdrop, allowing other textures and colours to stand out.
For example, the warmth of wood cabinetry against the cool, minimalist aesthetic of concrete creates a balance that is visually appealing and welcoming.
Similarly, incorporating porcelain tiles can add a touch of elegance and sophistication, making the space feel curated and intentional. Finding the right blend of colours and tones is crucial in creating a design that feels cohesive and intentional.
It’s not just about the individual materials but how they come together to tell a cohesive story. This approach encourages creativity and experimentation, pushing the boundaries of traditional design to explore new possibilities.
Incorporating concrete accents into a project, rather than fully cladding surfaces with concrete, can still capture the material’s essence without overwhelming the space. It’s about striking the right balance and using materials in a way that complements and enhances the overall design.
Whether it’s a fireplace surround, a kitchen backsplash, or a feature wall, blending materials can add depth, texture, and character to a space, making it truly stand out.

2024 Design Trends
The Forecast
It’s that time of year to dive into the trends we are seeing in the forecast for 2024.
There are 5 key design trends we want to focus on and explore! It’s important to note that while keeping up with trends can be fun, you should not feel pressured to follow them. We aim to share what we see in the industry and provide insights into what designers and architects create for their clients.
1. Warm Up to the Warm Tones
We know that trends tend to repeat themselves, and this year, we’re predicting a shift in neutral colour pallets. Cool colours have dominated the design industry in the last decade, using many greys and whites. However, this trend is changing, and warm neutrals such as beige, rust, and amber are becoming more popular in homes.
At Anthony Concrete Design, we value our concrete’s cool and warm tones and know that homeowners, designers and architects appreciate variety too. We offer a wide range of neutral concrete colours; however, since we specialize in custom products, we can manufacture colours that are tailored to your design specifications. We can modify the pigment concentrations in our mixes to create striking and unique custom colours that make a statement.

Captured above are some of the warm tones offered by ACD.
While we know most people adore their neutral colour pallets, many experts in the industry are stating that we’re about to see an increase in bright and bold colours mixed with earth tones as accent colours. Some are even seeing the monochromatic design style return full force, but it’s been renamed “colour drenching”.
People spent more time in their homes than ever before during the pandemic, and people are tired of the typical black, white, and grey colour pallets as their main focal points. We’re starting to see those colours move into accent pieces within a space, and homeowners are opting for colours that truly represent their style & charm.
When choosing a new coat of paint for your home, consider exploring beyond the usual cool greys and stark whites. With a wide range of warm neutrals and bold colours available, the choices are endless, and we hope you choose to warm up your space by opting for a warm or vibrant colour palette!
2. Organic Shapes
Curved design features in interior design have become increasingly popular in recent years. These unique design elements can add a soft and welcoming touch to any space while also creating a sense of flow and movement. One of the most common ways to incorporate curved design features into a space is through furniture. Curved sofas, armchairs, and ottomans can create a cozy and inviting seating area, while a curved desk or dining table can add a touch of elegance and sophistication to a room.
Another popular way to incorporate curved design elements is through architectural details such as archways, curved walls, and ceilings. These features can create a sense of fluidity and continuity between different areas and add visual interest and depth to a room. Curved lighting fixtures and accessories can also add a unique touch to a space.

Overall, incorporating curved design features can add a sense of softness, elegance, and fluidity to any interior space. Whether through furniture, architectural details, or accessories, these design elements can create a welcoming and visually interesting, comfortable, stylish environment.
Traditionally, sharp lines and symmetry have taken the main stage, but now we’re seeing a shift to organic forms with building materials, even those that are traditionally associated with clean-lined designs like concrete. More consumers are now seeking rounder corners, spheres, and fluted panels in both residential and commercial design despite the historic preference for sharp corners in concrete casting.
3. Natural Materials and Textures
Biophilic design is an approach to architecture and interior design that connects people with nature. It incorporates natural elements, such as plants, water, and light, into the built environment to create a more harmonious and healthy space. Biophilic design can be seen in many forms, from using natural materials like wood and stone to incorporating living walls, green roofs, and indoor gardens.
This design philosophy is based on the idea that humans have an innate connection to nature and that exposure to natural elements can positively impact our well-being. Studies have shown that biophilic design can improve productivity, reduce stress, and enhance creativity. It can also positively impact physical health by improving air quality, reducing noise pollution, and regulating temperature and humidity.

During the pandemic, people spent more time indoors, which has led to an increased demand for natural materials and textures in interior design. Our concrete cast products are unique and one-of-a-kind, much like natural materials. To meet this demand, we offer textured concrete panels that mimic the lines and knots found in wood slabs. These board-formed concrete panels are best suited for wall panel applications, such as feature walls or exterior cladding. We believe natural materials are the best choice and strive to offer products that meet this demand.
4. Outdoor Spaces Taking Priority
Homeowners are increasingly recognizing the value of their outdoor spaces, and since the pandemic, more households are renovating and improving them. Outdoor areas provide a place to relax, connect with nature, and enjoy the fresh air. Outdoor spaces can be used for entertaining guests, creating an inviting atmosphere and a place to relax and unwind.
When it comes to home design, outdoor spaces should be given the same attention and care as interior spaces. Whether you have a small balcony or a large backyard, there are endless possibilities for creating a functional and beautiful outdoor space. You can add seating, tables, countertops, and even an outdoor bar. To create a cozy and relaxing atmosphere, consider incorporating planters, water features, a fireboxe or a fireplace. There are many ways to make your outdoor space feel like an extension of your home.

5. Handmade Products
In a world of fast-paced movement and the need for convenience of goods, we’ve become accustomed to mass-produced building products that fill our local box stores. Designers and architects are now opting for authentic, handmade goods made locally when possible.
Handmade products have several advantages over mass-produced products. Handmade products are unique and one-of-a-kind, much like our custom concrete products. Each product is crafted with care and attention to detail, making each product different from any other product in the market. This uniqueness gives handmade products an authentic, special charm that mass-produced items cannot replicate.

Did you know that handmade products are typically more environmentally friendly than mass-produced items? Why? Most mass-produced products are imported globally, so by choosing handmade goods, you’re cutting down on transportation emissions. Anthony Concrete Design sources its ingredients locally and responsibly. Additionally, because handmade products are made in small batches, there is less waste and fewer resources used in the production process, and at times when we have extra concrete, we use that “waste” to fabricate samples.
Finally, buying handmade products supports local artisans and small businesses. When you buy a handmade product, you support the artist who created it and help to keep traditional crafts alive. You are also supporting small businesses and contributing to the local economy.

Concrete for Outdoor Living
How to make the most of your outdoor living space using concrete
With temperatures rising and everyone eager to spend more time outdoors, you may find yourself searching for ways to elevate your outdoor living space. Perhaps Concrete is the right fit.
Concrete brings a clean, modern sophistication to your outdoor space; that helps connect your space with the surrounding nature. It can also be a great way to create unity in design by carrying your interior design concepts to the outside of your home, helping foster a true ‘living space’ outside.
Let’s explore three simple, yet incredibly effective ways to use concrete outdoors this summer, and for many seasons to come.
1. Concrete Fireplace Surrounds
A fireplace is a great addition to your outdoor space. This is especially true in colder climates, as it can extend your outdoor living season beyond summer. By cladding your fireplace surround in concrete panels, you will create a durable, weather and heat-resistant focal point that stands the test of time both functionally and aesthetically.

This concrete fireplace surround anchors the outdoor living area and provides a visual focal point that establishes the home’s design statement.
2. Concrete Wall Panels
If a concrete fireplace doesn’t ignite your interest, maybe concrete wall panels are what you crave for your outdoor statement. If you have a wall that requires cladding or is need of an update, concrete wall panels can be quite impactful in adding architectural interest to your space. A large format, raw concrete panel can add a feeling of grandure and freshness. We especially enjoy the use of tie rod holes in these panels, which add to the authenticity of this feature wall.

3. Concrete Furniture
If you are looking to incorporate concrete in a more flexible and agile way, the use of concrete in furniture design is a clever way to create contemporary, sleek pieces. The beauty of using concrete for furniture is the longevity of these pieces; you can swap out chairs, pillows, rugs, and surrounding decor as often as you choose to update the area to suit your ever-changing style. Below are some photos of concrete furniture projects we’ve completed, and some inspiration photos of designs others have dreamed up.

Whether you find your style above, in a different image, or in your own imagination, the use of concrete for outdoor living can be customized to satisfy even your dreamiest of visions.
